Mechanical Design Engineer

Cure Talent is delighted to partner with a leading UK manufacturer who specialize in the design and production of high-quality packaging machinery solutions for the medical device industry.

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join this company’s engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and will play a crucial role in designing and developing packaging machinery, automation equipment, jigs and fixtures to meet both company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide mechanical engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning
• Assist in drafting User Requirement Specifications and translating them into Design Specifications
• Design components, mechanisms, and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring optimal materials and manufacturing methods
• Create detailed CAD drawings with appropriate tolerances and manufacturing notes
• Specify and procure bought-in components as required
• Develop and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) within company systems
• Deliver innovative engineering solutions for machine design challenges
• Conduct research and prototype testing for new processes and concepts
• Produce and maintain technical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in designing packaging or automation equipment
• Degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience working with medical packaging and/or medical devices
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
• Understanding of engineering and workshop machinery
