R&D Manager

Salary: €90k to €110k

As the R&D Manager, you will be leading a team of up to 20 Engineers and Experts that are specialists within Mechanical Engineering, ensuring objectives and targets are hit and support the growth and development of team members. This is a site based position.

We are seeking an experienced R&D Management professional with proven experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments. You will be an established and proven leader with demonstrable experience of growing and developing teams of engineers.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Leadership of the Mechanical Engineering function.
• Taking ownership for the growth and development of the team.
• Conducting goal settings, performance evaluations, attracting new talent, organization of trainings. Securing the quality of the results of the group members.
• Providing effort estimations and team member allocations to staff the project portfolio's that are requesting support from the team.
• Contributing to development and maintenance of the technology roadmap for systems and modules together with the team members, as well as securing the commonality across the various portfolios.

Key Qualifications/Experience:

• Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with experience in design principles of mechanical system development.
• Experience in leading a team of people in a high-tech R&D environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead sophisticated engineering projects through a defined product management process is preferred. Understanding the challenges and necessities in New Product Development.
• Advanced knowledge on a broad area of Electron Microscopy related technologies is highly advantageous, but relevant experience in other highly complex industries will be considered.
