According to a report, the adoption of remote patient monitoring (RPM) technology is being fueled by rising healthcare expenditures, an ageing population, and an increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases.
The market for medical devices enabling RPM is expected to reach US$45 billion by 2033, according to a recent analysis created by IDTechEx, with diabetes care being one of numerous discoveries. Diabetes is a relatively expensive health condition to treat and is one of the conditions most frequently covered by RPM programmes globally.
90% of the expenditure, which the World Health Organization estimates to be US$760 billion yearly (£637 billion), goes toward treating problems.
